JAMB Announces Most Sought-After Universities for 2024 UTME
The top 10 institutions were recognized for attracting the highest number of applicants during the 2024 UTME application period.

The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has announced the most sought-after universities for the 2024 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examinations (UTME). The University of Ilorin (UNILORIN) and Lagos State University (LASU) topped the list, according to a presentation by JAMB Registrar, Prof. Ishaq Oloyede, during the 2024 policy meeting. The top 10 institutions were recognized for attracting the highest number of applicants during the 2024 UTME application period.
The most sought-after universities in the 2024 UTME application are:
1. University of Ilorin (UNILORIN): 64,343 applicants
2. Lagos State University (LASU): 62,601 applicants
3. University of Lagos (UNILAG): 59,105 applicants
4. Federal University Oye-Ekiti (FUOYE): 55,481 applicants
5. Nnamdi Azikiwe University (UNIZIK): 54,495 applicants
6. University of Ibadan (UI): 50,598 applicants
7. University of Nigeria Nsukka (UNN): 48,544applicants
