In a recent development, the Jigawa State Government has earmarked $65,000 to facilitate the transfer of 10 students sponsored by the state. The students, originally enrolled at the International University of Africa, Khartoum, Sudan, will be relocated to Integral University, India, due to the ongoing conflict in Sudan.

This decision was disclosed by Alhaji Sagir Musa, the Commissioner for Information, Youths, Sports, and Culture, during a statement in Dutse, the state capital. The allocated funds are intended to cover various expenses, including tuition fees, accommodation, application fees, and foreign support services.

Furthermore, the council approved an additional sum of N53,562,295.80 for living allowances covering 12 months, as well as expenses related to visas, air tickets, and other logistics essential for the students' travel arrangements.

The Commissioner also reported that the council received progress updates from committees established by Governor Umar Namadi. These committees were focused on the state's COVID-19 Action Recovery and Economic Stimulus, Drug Revolving Fund, and Higher Education.

In response to the progress reports, the council unanimously decided to establish a committee tasked with generating white papers for each of the reports.
