MOUAU Vice-Chancellor Reaffirms Commitment to Inclusive Leadership as Staff Associations Pledge Support
The Vice-Chancellor of Michael Okpara University of Agriculture, Umudike (MOUAU), Professor Ursula Ngozi Akanwa, has reaffirmed her commitment to an inclusive, transparent and open-door administration, stressing that every member of the university community is valued equally, irrespective of tribe or ethnic background.

Professor Akanwa gave the assurance while receiving separate courtesy visits from the Ikwuano Staff Welfare Association and the Association of Yoruba Staff, whose members visited to congratulate her on her appointment as the seventh substantive Vice-Chancellor of the university.
The delegations were led by the President of the Ikwuano Staff Welfare Association, Dr. Atuonwu, and the President of the Association of Yoruba Staff, Dr. Bashir Ogungbagbe.
Speaking on behalf of their respective associations, the presidents described Professor Akanwa's appointment as well deserved and expressed confidence in her leadership. They also pledged the full support and cooperation of their members towards ensuring the success of her administration and the continued progress of the university.
In her response, the Vice-Chancellor thanked the associations for their goodwill and confidence in her leadership, describing the visits as a reflection of the unity within the university community.
She reiterated that her administration remains open to constructive engagement and collaboration, adding that no tribe is superior to another because MOUAU is one united family committed to excellence.

Professor Akanwa called on all staff to continue working together in an atmosphere of peace, mutual respect and shared responsibility to advance the university's vision and sustain its tradition of excellence.
