The Student Union Government (SUG) of Kaduna Polytechnic has extended heartfelt gratitude to the entire Polytechnic community, particularly the students, for their patience and understanding during the recent blackout that affected the institution.
In a statement signed by the Secretary General, Comrade Abubakar Ahmad, the SUG acknowledged the resilience and cooperation exhibited by students throughout the challenging period. The union also commended the school management for their tireless efforts in restoring electricity supply, highlighting their commitment to the well-being of both students and staff.
Special appreciation was directed to the Rector, Dr. Sulaiman Umar, for his leadership and guidance during the crisis. The SUG also recognized the Dean of Student Affairs, Mallam Faruq N. Musa, for his unwavering support and dedication to student welfare.
Furthermore, the SUG praised the efforts of Comrade Usman Ashir (Shadow), whose advocacy played a significant role in resolving the issue. His commitment, along with the collective efforts of the entire management and student leadership, was noted as instrumental in bringing the situation under control.
The SUG also issued a reminder to students to avoid using hotplates and other high-power appliances in the hostels to prevent overloading and potential fire hazards, emphasizing the importance of safe and responsible electricity usage.
