KASU Celebrates World Hausa Day with Global Scholars
Kaduna State University (KASU) recently hosted a virtual program to commemorate World Hausa Day, themed "Hausa Language and People in the 21st Century."
The event brought together renowned Hausa scholars from around the world to discuss the status and future of the Hausa language and people.
The event featured distinguished scholars from various countries, including China, Germany, Canada, Egypt, Libya, and Japan. These scholars offered insightful perspectives on the socio-linguistic and cultural dynamics of the Hausa-speaking world.
The event facilitated academic exchange, cultural celebration, and global collaboration in the promotion of Hausa language, literature, and identity.
Nigerian Hausa scholars, including Prof. Salisu Ahmed Yakasai and Prof. Abdallah Uba Adamu, presented critical perspectives on the evolution of Hausa language and literature.
The event created new pathways for international collaboration and linguistic development, reaffirming the central role of Hausa in global academic discourse and cultural heritage.
The success of the event was attributed to the unwavering support of the Vice Chancellor, Prof. Abdullahi Ibrahim Musa, and the coordination and leadership of Dr. Samaila Mohammed Mijinyawa, Head of the Department of Nigerian Languages and Linguistics.
The 2025 World Hausa Day celebration at KASU was a resounding success, marking a significant milestone in the promotion and preservation of the Hausa language and its values.
