KASU's Path to Promoting a Vibrant Sports Culture: Athletes Excel in Various Events, Receive Jersey Donations

The Sports Directorate of Kaduna State University, under the leadership of Prof. Samuel Daniel Katung, met with the university management on Monday, 6th May 2024, to formally present the accomplished student-athletes who secured multiple medals in various recent tournaments. This marks yet another significant achievement in the university's sporting history.

The achievements include:

- Abdulsalam Abdulqudus from the Department of Industrial Chemistry won a Bronze medal at the National Table Tennis Championship held in Osun State on 22 April 2024.

- Salamat Muhammad from the Department of Chemistry clinched two Gold medals in Javelin and Shot Put at the MTN Athletics Championship in Jos, Plateau State, from 23 to 26 April 2024.

- Ahmad Muhammad Rabih from the Faculty of Communications and Media Studies bagged a Silver medal in Kumite (fight) and a Gold medal in Kata (form) at the Brigadier Gen. Kapeh Kazir Kaduna for Peace Karate Championship on April 26, 2024.

- Six Track and Field Athletes who represented KASU at the NDA Sports Week Invitational 4 x 100m Relay Competition on May 3, 2024, secured a 3rd place finish and a cash prize.

Furthermore, HB Football Academy and Central Bank Kaduna Football Club generously donated jerseys to the KASU Football Team (KASU Crocs).

The University Management, led by the Deputy Vice-Chancellor, Academic, Prof. Yusha'u Ibrahim Ango, who represented the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Abdullahi I. Musa, expressed immense joy at the athletes' success and reaffirmed their steadfast support for sporting activities. They commended the athletes and their coaches for their outstanding performances and dedication.

The rest of the KASU Management in attendance included the Deputy Vice-Chancellor, Administration, Prof. Muhammad Bashir Ali, the Deputy Vice-Chancellor, Strategy, Innovation, and Service Delivery, Prof. Helen Afang Andow, the University Librarian, Dr Umar Babangida Dangani, and the University Bursar, Hajiya Hauwau Dalhat.

Likewise, among the KASU sports officials present were Dahiru Musa, Ibrahim A. Ibrahim, Josiah Musa Kallah, and Josephat Bakut Amai.
