Hajiya Jamila Abdu Mani, the Special Adviser to the Katsina State governor on girl-child education, has affirmed the commitment of the present administration to provide education and skills to every girl-child in the state. Speaking at the presentation of N10,000 cash to recently graduated girls from a skills acquisition center, Hajiya Mani emphasized the importance of educating every girl-child, ensuring they acquire both Islamic and Western knowledge.

In addition to these efforts, the government has commissioned a sexual assault referral center to address issues of gender-based violence and victimization. Hajiya Mani highlighted that the center, the first of its kind in the state, is a partnership with the Ministry of Health. It will provide necessary care, counseling, and seek justice for women facing assault, especially those who may be too shy to visit traditional hospitals.

The Special Adviser expressed concern about gender-based violence and the challenges faced by women in the state. She stressed the importance of providing a supportive environment for victims and ensuring their rights are protected.

The sexual assault referral center is equipped with medical professionals, laboratory technicians, and counselors to deliver comprehensive services.
