Kebbi State Government Invests N8.9bn in Education

The Kebbi State Government has announced an investment of N8.9bn for the construction and upgrade of 120 schools and classrooms. This initiative is part of the Adolescent Girls Initiative for Learning and Empowerment (AGILE) program.

The state governor, Nasir Idris, disclosed this information during the commencement of construction for additional blocks of classrooms at the Government Day Secondary School, Bubuce, located in the Augie local Government Area of the state.

Governor Idris stated that the AGILE program would enable the construction, design, and upgrade of 120 schools, ranging from primary to secondary levels. He expressed his administration’s commitment to improving the state’s educational standards, particularly for girls.

The Secretary to the State Government, Alhaji Yakubu Bala Tafida, added that the projects would be distributed across the 21 local government areas of the state. He confirmed that the governor has approved selected schools in these areas for the implementation of the AGILE project, aiming to enhance learning.
