Khalifa Isyaku Rabiu University, Kano (KHAIRUN), in collaboration with the National Library of Nigeria, successfully held the 2024 Annual Readership Promotion Campaign on October 24, 2024. The event was themed “Reading as Barriers Breakers and Excellence Propeller:
The Role of Stakeholders in Sustaining the Culture of Reading.” Prof. Chinwe V. Anunobi, the National Librarian and CEO of the National Library of Nigeria, presented the program, emphasizing the transformative power of reading for individual growth and societal progress, particularly in overcoming educational barriers for youth.
In his remarks, Professor Abdulrashid Garba, KHAIRUN’s Vice-Chancellor and chairman of the occasion, highlighted the importance of modernizing libraries and equipping them with the necessary resources to promote academic excellence and a vibrant reading culture, especially among young people.
