Kogi State Chapter of the US Exchange Alumni paid a courtesy visit to the Vice-Chancellor at the main campus of the Federal University Lokoja
During the visit, the association discussed its plans to organize a 3-day workshop for women in civil service on the use of computer, internet communication systems, and online fraud prevention methods entitled "Empower Net: Secure-Connect-Strive for Kogi Women in Civil Service."
According to the Alumni Secretary, Khadijat Abubakar Isa, the workshop aims to provide women with the needed skills to use computer and internet communication systems effectively and safely, raise awareness about the risks of online fraud and steps that can be taken to prevent it, build the confidence of women in using computer and internet communication system as well as provide a safe space for help when needed, and reduce the digital divide between men and women in the civil service.
The group also requested the Vice-Chancellor to nominate some female members of staff from the University to participate in the planned workshop.
