The Kogi State Police Command has confirmed that 10 students of the Confluence University of Science and Technology (CUSTECH), Osara, are still in the custody of terrorists following a recent abduction incident. This revelation comes despite the successful rescue of 14 students, as stated by the State Police Command Spokesman, Williams Aya.

According to Aya, the abduction occurred during a Thursday invasion, with a total of 24 students being kidnapped. Joint security teams, including the Police Mobile Force (PMF), Counter-Terrorism Unit (CTU), Nigerian Army personnel, Department of State Services (DSS), hunters, and local vigilantes, conducted a rescue operation. Aya credited their combined efforts for the successful rescue of the 14 students after a shootout with the abductors, forcing them to abandon some victims and flee.

While efforts are ongoing to locate and rescue the remaining victims, one of the abducted students has been identified as Daniel Onimisi. Last Thursday's invasion saw terrorists storm the university premises, where students were reportedly preparing for their first-semester examinations. The attackers, who arrived through the bush, indiscriminately fired shots and abducted several students, leaving the community in shock.
