The Kwara State Government has initiated the disbursement of N10,000 bursary awards to a total of 9,989 final year students enrolled in tertiary institutions across the state. Following a meticulous screening process of 27,314 applications from 16 local government areas, the beneficiaries, who are also final year students of the 2023/2024 academic year, have been identified.

In a statement released by the state's Commissioner for Tertiary Education, Dr. Mary Arinde, it was confirmed that the disbursement commenced on Wednesday, March 27, with payments being made directly into the beneficiaries' accounts to ensure transparency and accountability. However, a few applicants with incorrect account details will be contacted to rectify the issue.

Additionally, the statement highlighted the allocation of 100,000 scholarship awards for the 2022/2023 academic session, specifically for law students, with 107 successful applicants of Kwara State origin receiving direct disbursements. This initiative, according to the commissioner, reflects the governor's commitment to uplifting the welfare of final year Kwara indigenes in tertiary institutions nationwide.
