Kwara State University Introduces Strict Dress Code and Ethics Policy

Kwara State University (KWASU) has announced the implementation of a strict dress code and ethics policy, aimed at enhancing discipline and promoting a conducive learning environment.

 

The policy outlines two categories of offenses: unethical behaviors and dress code violations. Unethical behaviors include consumption and possession of alcohol and illicit drugs, membership of unregistered associations, sexual assault, cyber crimes, and physical and verbal assault, among others.

Dress code violations include failure to wear identification cards on campus, wearing skimpy and revealing clothes, and indecent and flamboyant dressing. Specific guidelines for male and female students are also outlined, including restrictions on piercings, braiding of hair, and nail length.

Sanctions for offending students range from seizure of identification cards and payment of fines to suspension and expulsion, depending on the severity of the offense.
