KWASU Governing Council Appoints Professors Moshood Mahmood Jimba and Olubukola Christianah Dada as Deputy Vice-Chancellors

Kwara State University's (KWASU) Governing Council has officially ratified the appointments of Professor Moshood Mahmood Jimba and Professor Olubukola Christianah Dada as Deputy Vice-Chancellors. The decision was made during a special meeting on Tuesday, August 13, 2024.

Professor Moshood Mahmood Jimba has been appointed Deputy Vice-Chancellor Administration. Previously, he served as the Dean of the School of Postgraduate Studies. A Professor of Arabic Language and Literature, Jimba joined KWASU in 2012 and has held several significant roles, including Head of Department, Director of the Centre for Ilorin Manuscripts, and Dean of Student Affairs. He also chairs the Kwara State Arabic Education Board and the Muslim Pilgrims Welfare Board, having been appointed to the latter by Governor Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq in 2023.

Professor Olubukola Christianah Dada will serve as Deputy Vice-Chancellor Academic. A Professor of Intellectual and Developmental Disability in the Department of Special Education, Dada joined KWASU in 2014. Her extensive service includes roles such as Director of the Undergraduate Research Center, Deputy Director of KWASU Press and Publishing, Director of General Studies, Director of the Institute of Education, Director of the Centre for Disability Support, and Head of the Department of Special Education.
