KWASU Mourns Passing Of a Community Leader

KWASU Mourns Passing Of a Community Leader

The Acting Vice-Chancellor of Kwara State University, Malete, Professor Shaykh-Luqman Jimoh, has commiserated with the people of Owa Kajola community in Ifelodun Local Government Area of Kwara State and the immediate family on the demise of Dr. John Funsho Oyedele.

The Acting Vice-Chancellor stated that the late Dr. Oyedele, who was in the service of KWASU until he voluntarily disengaged in 2021, was a community leader that contributed significantly to the establishment and growth of the Business Education Department of the institution. 

Professor Jimoh said Dr. Oyedele, who was the pioneer Head of the Department of Business Education, and who served as a member of the then Senate Business Committee of the University was instrumental in the recruitment of the key personnel into the department of BusinessEducation.

The University don added that the late Dr. Oyedele was an active, entrepreneurial, easy-going, and simple man who was committed to community development, as exemplified in his emergence as the President of Omo Ibile Ile-Ire in the Owa-Kajola district.

Professor Jimoh prayed God to give the family and friends of the departed fortitude to bear the loss of an illustrious man, asking also for God to rest his soul in peace.
