The Lagos State University (LASU) Pension Board of Trustees recently hosted its 2nd sensitization lecture series, targeting staff members who are set to retire within the next five years (2024-2028), held at the Aderemi Makanjuola Lecture theatre on the main campus, Ojo, Lagos state.

The event aimed to equip employees with essential knowledge for a smooth transition into retirement.

In her opening remarks, Professor Adenike O. Boyo, the Chairman of the LASU Pension Board of Trustees, commended the proactive stance of the University Management in prioritizing retirement planning for its staff members. Recognizing the significance, she underscored the crucial role of preparing employees for their post service years.

Representing Professor Boyo at the event, Mrs. Olajumoke O. Boyejo, Deputy Registrar of the Directorate of General Administration , Archival and Legal Affairs, reiterated the Chairman's sentiments. 

"The sensitization lecture is aimed at preparing members of staff for the future," she noted.

Mrs. Boyejo echoed Professor Boyo's appreciation for the University Management's commitment to the welfare and future well-being of its workforce.

"I appreciate the Vice Chancellor, Professor Ibiyemi Olatunji-Bello, mni, NPOM, for giving approval to the Lagos State University Pension Board of Trustees, to hold the event," she stated.

Together, their remarks highlighted the collaborative effort between the LASU Pension Board of Trustees and the University Management in fostering a supportive environment for retirement planning, ensuring that the staff are equipped with the necessary tools and knowledge for a secure and prosperous post-service life.
