NSUK Vice-Chancellor Commissions New EDC Facilities, Advocates for Innovation and Market Expansion

Nasarawa State University, Keffi (NSUK) has taken a significant step towards fostering entrepreneurship and skills development with the inauguration of new facilities at its Entrepreneurship Development Centre (EDC). Professor Sa'adatu Hassan Liman, the Vice-Chancellor of NSUK, commissioned the 'Prof. Sa'adatu Hassan Liman Garden' and an expanded Incubation Unit on Monday, February 17, 2025.
The new facilities include dedicated spaces for baking, spices production, Masa preparation, and registration services. During the inauguration ceremony, Professor Liman, accompanied by top university officials, toured an exhibition showcasing diverse products developed by EDC units, such as soap, cosmetics, shoes, furniture, textiles, paint, baked goods, Kilishi (Beef jerky), and fish.
In her remarks, Professor Liman commended the EDC team's efforts and stressed the need for enhanced marketing strategies and rigorous quality control to expand market reach and competitiveness. She encouraged students to maximize the opportunities offered by the EDC and urged the EDC management to continue innovating to further benefit the university and community.
Professor Rasheedat Funke Olanrewaju, Director of the EDC, requested additional infrastructure to accommodate the growing number of students in skills training programs. She highlighted the 'COMMUNIVERSITY' initiative, designed to extend the university's expertise to the wider community, and expressed optimism about the EDC's future, particularly with AI-driven enhancements.
The inauguration ceremony concluded with a group photograph, capturing the shared commitment to fostering entrepreneurship and skills development at NSUK.
