Al-Istiqama University Suspends Student for Public Display of Affection
A 200 level student of department of Computer Science, Al-Istiqama University, Sumaila, Kano, Abdullahi Juli Mansur, was suspended for immoral behaviour on campus.

In a surprising turn of events, Abdullahi Juli Mansur, a 200-level student in the Department of Computer Science in Al-Istiqama University, located at Sumaila, Kano state, has been suspended for what the university administration deems “improper behavior.”

The incident unfolded on Tuesday when Mansur was caught on camera attempting to present a red bouquet to a female schoolmate within the university premises. The video quickly went viral on social media, sparking heated debates among students and faculty.
While the female student did not publicly accept the romantic gesture, the spectacle drew the attention of onlookers who cheered and speculated about the budding romance. However, the university administration took a different view, considering the display of affection as a breach of their moral code.
In an internal memo dated May 14, 2024, with reference number AUS/REG/54, the university management announced Mansur’s suspension.
"This is to inform you that Abdullahi Juli Mansur, a student of the Department of Computer Science with registration number AUS/SCC/COM/22/1018, has been suspended for displaying improper behaviour on campus." they noted.
