LASU Issues Disclaimer on Fraudulent Admission Emails, Warns Public Against Fake Offers
The Management of Lagos State University (LASU), Ojo, has issued an official disclaimer following reports of fraudulent emails being circulated to unsuspecting members of the public, purporting to offer admission into the University and requesting payment of acceptance fees through unauthorised links.

The Management of Lagos State University (LASU), Ojo, has issued an official disclaimer following reports of fraudulent emails being circulated to unsuspecting members of the public, purporting to offer admission into the University and requesting payment of acceptance fees through unauthorised links.
In a statement signed by Thomas-Onashile, Oluwayemisi A., Deputy Registrar and Coordinator, Centre for Information and Public Relations, the University categorically disowned the messages and clarified as follows:

Fraudulent Email Addresses: The fake emails did not originate from LASU or the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB). The institution noted that all official LASU emails end with @lasu.edu.ng, not with free domains such as Gmail.

Candidate Not Offered Admission: The individual cited in the fraudulent message has neither been shortlisted for admission by LASU nor admitted via the JAMB Central Admissions Processing System (CAPS). Genuine admissions are processed strictly through JAMB CAPS and reflected on LASU’s official admission portal.

Payment Platform: The University does not send payment links via email. All payments are made only through LASU’s official e-payment platform, accessible via www.lasu.edu.ng.

Payment Clarification: The institution reiterated that all charges must be paid exclusively through the official LASU website.

University’s Reputation: LASU emphasized that the fraudulent messages are the handiwork of criminal elements attempting to defraud candidates and damage the institution’s image.
The University advised the public, prospective candidates, parents, and guardians to disregard such messages, avoid clicking unauthorised links, and report suspicious emails to the University authorities.
Reaffirming its commitment to transparency and integrity, LASU stressed that all genuine admission and payment processes are conducted solely through the official LASU website and the JAMB CAPS platform.
