Law students from Lagos State University (LASU) have emerged victorious in the prestigious National Inter-Faculty Competition, triumphing over 52 other universities from across the nation. The competition, themed 'The Legal and Ethical Implication of Emerging Technology', was hosted by Redeemers University in Osun State and showcased the academic prowess of LASU's legal scholars.

The competition, comprising various stages including essay writing, asynchronous debate, memorial writing, and mooting, posed challenges that tested participants' critical thinking, problem-solving abilities, and teamwork. Representing LASU were Kodjovi Daniel in the essay writing stage, Aina Ayomide, and Abdulquadri Ajeniya in the debate stage, and Bolajoko Animasaun and Akinrinde Fredrick in the final rounds.

Akinwunmi David, President of the Student Advocate Association at LASU, praised the students' hard work, dedication, and brilliance, stating that their victory is a testament to their intellectual prowess and the institution's pride.

In addition to this achievement, LASU emerged as the winner of the southwest inter-tertiary debate organized by the National Association of Nigerian Students, showcasing the university's continued excellence in academic competitions.

Meanwhile, Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, announced a significant reward of N10 million for LASU's overall best-graduating student of the 2021/2022 academic session, Aminat Yusuf. Graduating with a Cumulative Grade Point Average of 5.0 from the Faculty of Law, Yusuf's exceptional academic performance earned her this commendable recognition. Governor Sanwo-Olu pledged a token donation of N5 million, with an additional N5 million donation from the state government, in acknowledgment of Yusuf's outstanding achievement.

LASU's consistent success in academic competitions and the commendation received from government authorities reflect the university's commitment to academic excellence and the remarkable achievements of its students.
