LASU Named among 49 Universities to Get Broadband Connectivity as FG Moves to Improve Internet on Campuses, awarded by the Ministry of Communications and Digital Economy, Federal Republic of Nigeria. Other beneficiaries of the special intervention include six (6) markets and Twenty (20) Airports across the Country.
LASU NAMED AMONG 49 TERTIARY INSTITUTIONS TO GET BROADBAND CONNECTIVITY FROM THE MINISTRY OF COMMUNICATIONS AND DIGITAL ECONOMY
The Lagos State University has been named among 49 Tertiary Institutions in Nigeria that will benefit from the provision of Broadband Connectivity awarded by the Ministry of Communications and Digital Economy, Federal Republic of Nigeria. Other beneficiary of the special intervention include six (6) markets and Twenty (20) Airports across the Country.
The Vice Chancellor, Prof. Ibiyemi Ibilola Olatunji - Bello, mni, was in Abuja on Thursday, 6th April, 2023 to receive the Certificate of Award of the intervention presented by the Honourable Minister of Communications and Digital Economy, Prof. Isa Ali Ibrahim Pantami, at the Main Auditorium of the Communications and Digital Economy Complex, Mbora District, Abuja.
While giving her acceptance speech, the Vice Chancellor, Prof. Ibiyemi Ibilola Olatunji - Bello, mni, thanked the Honourable Minister, as well as, the Chairman of Nigerian Communications Commission, Prof. Adeolu Akande, for finding Lagos State University worthy of the intervention, noting that "... the provision of Broadband Connectivity in our University will improve learning and research, and enhance the full digitalisation of our processes."
She added that "...with this provision, the entire University will have full internet connectivity."
The Vice Chancellor was accompanied to the award ceremony by the Acting Director, Directorate of Special Interventions, Dr. Oseni Afisi, and the Admin. Officer II/Protocol in the Vice Chancellor's Office, Miss. Blessings Awaritakpor.
