LASU to Address “JAPA Syndrome” in Maiden Departmental Lecture Series

The Department of Religions and Peace Studies, Faculty of Arts, Lagos State University (LASU), is set to host its maiden Departmental Lecture Series. Themed "A Theological Perspective to the JAPA Syndrome of Nigerian Professionals to the Foreign World," the event will examine the growing migration of Nigerian professionals abroad through a theological lens.

Scheduled for Monday, November 25, 2024, at 11:00 a.m., the lecture will be held at the Aderemi Makanjuola Lecture Theatre, LASU Main Campus, Ojo.

Distinguished Professor F. Asaju of the Department of Religions and Peace Studies, LASU, will serve as the keynote speaker, while Dr. Selome Kuponu, Acting Head of the Department, will moderate the session. The event will be hosted by Professor Ayodele Ayotunde, Dean, Faculty of Arts, with Professor Ibiyemi Olatunji-Bello, mni, NPOM, Vice-Chancellor of LASU, as the Chief Host.

The lecture aims to provide insights into the theological implications of the JAPA phenomenon and its impact on national development. Faculty members, students, and the public are invited to attend this thought-provoking session.
