LAUTECH Graduates 10,223 Students, 137 Earn First-Class Degrees

The Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Rasaq Rom Kalilu, disclosed this during a press conference held at the university’s council chamber on Thursday, ahead of the convocation.
According to him, the graduating class comprises 7,641 undergraduate students and 2,582 postgraduate students.
A breakdown of the undergraduate results shows that 3,438 students graduated with second class upper and lower divisions, while 1,008 obtained third-class degrees and 37 finished in the pass category.
In the Nursing Science programme, 1,021 students graduated, including 17 with distinction, 973 with credit, and 11 in the pass category.

Providing further details on postgraduate outcomes, the Vice-Chancellor stated that 596 graduands would receive academic and professional postgraduate diplomas, while 1,850 would be awarded master’s degrees across various disciplines. Nine candidates are to be admitted to the Master of Philosophy degree, while 127 will earn Doctor of Philosophy degrees.
He also noted that 2,852 individuals would be awarded postgraduate diplomas and subsequently admitted into higher degree programmes.
On student funding, Prof. Kalilu disclosed that 5,000 students of the institution benefited from the Nigerian Education Loan Fund (NELFUND) scheme in 2025.
He added that in 2026, the university recorded 19,000 applications for the scheme, out of which 15,000 were approved, reflecting increased student participation in the funding initiative.
