Ladoke Akintola University of Technology (LAUTECH), Ogbomoso, has reaffirmed its position as a hub of innovation and excellence by clinching the First Runner-Up position in the Students’ Project Exhibition Competition at the International Conference and Exhibition on Power and Telecommunication (ICEPT) 2025.

Ladoke Akintola University of Technology (LAUTECH), Ogbomoso, has reaffirmed its position as a hub of innovation and excellence by clinching the First Runner-Up position in the Students’ Project Exhibition Competition at the International Conference and Exhibition on Power and Telecommunication (ICEPT) 2025.

The event, organised by the Nigerian Institute of Electrical and Electronic Engineers (NIEEE), took place in Osogbo, Osun State, from October 14 to 15, 2025.

The LAUTECH team, consisting of Mubarak Erinfolami and Ajibade Ifeoluwa, both from the Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering, showcased their groundbreaking project titled AquaVise: An AI-Driven Aquafarm with Wastewater Management System. The innovation integrates artificial intelligence and sustainable wastewater management techniques to enhance aquaculture efficiency and promote eco-friendly farming among local fish farmers.

The University community celebrated the students’ exceptional achievement, highlighting it as a reflection of LAUTECH’s growing reputation for technological creativity and applied research. Commendations were also extended to the University Management for its continued encouragement of student-led innovations and to Prof. Tesleem Babatunde Asafa, Director of the Centre for Emerging Skills and Technologies (CEST), for his steadfast mentorship and guidance throughout the project’s development.

This recognition adds to LAUTECH’s expanding list of achievements in research, innovation, and entrepreneurship — further cementing its influence in advancing science and technology education in Nigeria and beyond.
