Honourable Abiola Peter Makinde, representing the Ondo East/West federal constituency in the National Assembly, has demonstrated his commitment to education by providing laptops and other educational materials to primary and secondary school students in the constituency. The gesture, part of the lawmaker's annual provision of instructional materials, aims to enhance academic performance.

Honourable Makinde, who is also the Chairman of the House Committee on Human Rights, shared the motivation behind the empowerment. He emphasized the transformative impact of support received during challenging times in his life and expressed a determination to be a pillar of support for others.

"These students are our tomorrow. No prosperous nation casts kids away. Rather, they are built and made to go through comprehensive education so they can be useful to themselves and the nation in years to come," stated Honourable Makinde.

The lawmaker linked the initiative to his campaign mantra, WEALTH, representing Water, Education, Agriculture, Light, Training, and Health. Dr Rhoda Makinde, the wife of the lawmaker and convener of the Dr Rhoda Makinde Initiative (DROMI), was present at the event.

Beneficiaries expressed gratitude to Honourable Makinde, pledging to make judicious use of the educational items provided for the advancement of their academics. The event was attended by educational stakeholders, political leaders, and the Chairman of the Nigerian Union of Teachers (NUT).
