Lead City University, Ibadan, Oyo State, will host the International Association for School Librarianship (IASL) Africa Conference & Workshops from 23rd to 27th March 2026.
Lead City University, Ibadan, Oyo State, will host the International Association for School Librarianship (IASL) Africa Conference & Workshops from 23rd to 27th March 2026.
Themed "Stronger School Libraries, Stronger Futures," the event will bring together school librarians, educators, researchers, literacy advocates, and policy influencers from across Africa to exchange ideas, build capacity, and strengthen school libraries’ role in promoting learning, inclusion, and sustainable development.

Conference Sub-Themes Include:
- Literacy and Lifelong Learning
- Digital Literacy, ICT & AI in School Libraries
- Equity, Inclusion and Wellbeing
- School Libraries for Sustainable Development (SDGs in Action)
- Indigenous Knowledge, Local Content & Cultural Sustainability
- Leadership, Advocacy and Policy for Sustainable School Libraries
- Innovation and the Future of School Libraries in Africa
Workshops:
Participants will engage in practical sessions covering reading culture, parental involvement, OER, advocacy and fundraising, learning through play, information literacy, AI tools and ethics, and wellbeing in school libraries.
Call for Abstracts:
Abstracts of maximum 250 words are invited from practitioners and researchers. Submissions must include author details and at least five keywords and should be sent to region1iaslafrica@gmail.com.
