MAAUN Urges Universities to Accelerate AI Courses and Investments at Lecture Series

The need for universities and educational institutions to expedite the introduction of Artificial Intelligence (AI) courses and increase investments in the field was emphasized during the 4th Online Lecture Series organized by the School of Computing at Maryam Abacha American University of Nigeria (MAAUN).
Professor Ihtiram Raza Khan from Jamia Hamdad, India, who delivered the lecture, highlighted the growing importance of AI in daily life and economic activities, particularly in the development of sustainable smart cities. He predicted that within the next four to five years, AI will become as commonplace and accessible as cloud computing.
The lecture, titled "AI in the Design of Sustainable Smart Cities: Role of AI in Sustainability," provided insights into how AI can support social life and economic growth. It attracted both staff and students, who engaged in discussions and shared perspectives on the topic.
Prof. Ibrahim Alhaji Lawal, Dean of the School of Computing, praised the relevance of AI in areas such as security, agriculture, and construction. He expressed his gratitude to Professor Raza Khan for his detailed presentation and encouraged more events of this nature in the future.
Key members of the MAAUN management, including the President, Prof. Mohammad Israr, and other faculty members, attended the event, further highlighting the university's commitment to AI education.
