McPherson University Don, Dr. Ayodeji Oluwole Adegun, Secures UK Research Grant
The grant, valued at £5,000 and spanning one year, is designated for Dr. Adegun's project titled, "Prescription, Non-Prescription And Other Personal Healthcare Products: An Investigation Into Their Environmental Behaviour In Ondo State, Nigeria."
Dr. Ayodeji Oluwole Adegun, a faculty member at McPherson University in Seriki Sotayo, Ogun State, has been awarded a prestigious research grant by the Royal Society of Chemistry in the United Kingdom.
The grant, valued at £5,000 and spanning one year, is designated for Dr. Adegun's project titled, "Prescription, Non-Prescription And Other Personal Healthcare Products: An Investigation Into Their Environmental Behaviour In Ondo State, Nigeria."
In an official statement by the university's deputy registrar for information and public relations, Sanmi Enigbokan, Vice-Chancellor Prof. Francis Igbasan extended congratulations to Dr. Adegun for this remarkable academic achievement and expressed optimism for the success of his research endeavor.
Dr. Adegun, a member of the Biological Sciences department, previously received an honorary appointment in 2019 as a Visiting Researcher/Ph.D. Student at the School of Life Sciences, Pharmacy, and Chemistry, Kingston University London, United Kingdom. He has also been recognized with several prestigious awards, including the Researcher Development Award and the Developing World Scholarship from the Royal Society of Chemistry in 2023 and 2019 respectively. Additionally, he was honored with the Tugbuyele Prize for the best graduating student in Chemistry from his alma mater in 2002.
Currently holding the position of Lecturer 1, Dr. Adegun has authored numerous publications in high-impact journals and possesses extensive expertise in Environmental Analysis, Chromatography, Mass Spectrometry, and Data Analysis Software.
