MDCN Inducts 80 New Medical Doctors from Bingham University

The Medical and Dental Council of Nigeria (MDCN) recently conducted an induction ceremony for 80 new medical doctors from Bingham University, Karu, urging them to uphold professional ethics in their careers.

The ceremony, held in Jos, Plateau State, celebrated the culmination of a rigorous six-year clinical program for the graduates. Bingham University's Vice Chancellor, Prof. Haruna Kuje Ayuba, commended the new doctors for their dedication and perseverance. He highlighted the institution's role in addressing Nigeria's medical manpower needs, noting it has produced a total of 629 doctors since its inception.

In his address, Prof. Ayuba emphasized the importance of the new doctors contributing to national development and improving the country's healthcare system. He noted the challenging doctor-to-population ratio in Nigeria and underscored the significance of retaining skilled professionals to address healthcare challenges.

Dr. Job Ayuba Bagat, President of the Evangelical Church Winning All (ECWA), encouraged the graduates to continue pursuing knowledge and excellence in their practice. He emphasized the values of integrity, professionalism, and ethical standards, instilled during their education at Bingham University.

Speaking on behalf of the university's College of Medicine and Allied Health Sciences, Provost Prof. Haroun Isah highlighted the diverse accomplishments of the graduating class, which included a notable increase in female doctors.
