The Medical Rehabilitation Therapists Board of Nigeria (MRTB) has commended Redeemer’s University for its dedication to preserving the quality of the Physiotherapy profession despite the challenges posed by the "Japa Syndrome." This praise was given during the 2nd Induction Ceremony of 22 new Bachelor of Physiotherapy graduates held at the University Event Centre in Ede, Osun State.

Speaking at the ceremony, MRTB Registrar, Prof. Ahmad Rufai, lauded the university for its consistent effort in training skilled physiotherapists, ensuring the availability of quality educators, and providing modern equipment for the students. "Redeemer’s University does not just produce graduates; they ensure that the quality of their graduates is exceptional," he remarked. Rufai further encouraged the new inductees to specialize in specific areas within their field, emphasizing that "specialization is key to career success in physiotherapy."

Representing the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Shadrach Akindele, the Chairman of the University’s Committee of Deans, Prof. Uchechukwu Vincent, advised the graduates to uphold the values instilled in them by Redeemer’s University, urging them to live with integrity and continue to collaborate with peers in their professional journey.

In his keynote speech, Prof. O. G. Sokunbi from Bayero University, Kano, highlighted the growing role of cutting-edge technology, such as telehealth, virtual reality, robotics, and artificial intelligence, in enhancing patient care. He encouraged the new physiotherapists to remain innovative and keep up with the latest advancements in their field.

Prof. Olumide Olukanni, Dean of the Faculty of Basic Medical Sciences, echoed this sentiment, urging the graduates to adopt an "unlimited mindset" in their careers, encouraging lifelong learning and collaboration to excel in the rapidly evolving field of physiotherapy. Dr. Opeyemi Idowu, Acting Head of the Department of Physiotherapy, congratulated the graduates on their resilience and hard work, emphasizing the importance of upholding ethical standards in their professional lives.

The ceremony celebrated not only the individual achievements of the graduates but also Redeemer’s University’s ongoing contribution to addressing societal needs through its top-tier physiotherapy program.
