Meet Prof. Umar A. Taura's Stellar The First PhD & Professor in Special Education

In an exclusive interview with JIGAWA FOCUS Editor-in-Chief, Abdulkadir Bello, Professor Umar A. Taura, Jigawa's first PhD holder and Professor in Special Education, shared his remarkable achievements since joining Bayero University Kano in 2009.

Prof. Taura revealed that upon assuming duty on November 2, 2009, he was appointed to assist the Level 400 Students Coordinator and successfully collated and computed final year results.

"I was employed as Lecturer II at Bayero University Kano and assumed duty on 2nd November, 2009," Prof. Taura stated. "Being a Master degree holder, I was admitted to PhD programme in the 2010/2011 session and completed and collected my results in 2015."

Prof. Taura highlighted his various roles, including Level Coordinator, Departmental Examination Officer, and Acting Head of Department of Special Education. He has also supervised numerous undergraduate and postgraduate projects and published extensively in reputable journals.
