Michael Okpara University Inaugurates Staff Disciplinary Committee for Enhanced Governance
Michael Okpara University Vice Chancellor, Prof. Maduebibisi Ofo Iwe, inaugurates the reconstituted University Staff Disciplinary Committee (SDC) to address misconduct cases among staff, emphasizing integrity and adherence to regulations.

The Michael Okpara University of Agriculture, Umudike, saw a significant administrative development as the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Maduebibisi Ofo Iwe, officially inaugurated the reconstituted University Staff Disciplinary Committee (SDC) during a management meeting held on Monday.
In his address, Prof. M. O. Iwe underscored the pivotal role of the committee in addressing cases of gross misconduct among staff, which are referred by the university management. He outlined the committee's mandate, which includes recommending appropriate actions in accordance with regulations and devising strategies to prevent future misconduct occurrences.
Highlighting the essence of sincerity and honesty, Prof. Iwe called upon the committee members to carry out their responsibilities as a service to the institution. Stressing the importance of familiarity with the university's conditions of service, he provided guidance on the committee's operational framework, clarifying that it serves as a review panel rather than an investigative body. He further affirmed that the committee's decisions would be presented to the university council.

The newly appointed Chairman of the committee, Prof. V. I. O Ndirika, expressed readiness to undertake the responsibilities bestowed upon him.
