In a heartwarming gesture, Dr. Betta C Edu, the Minister of Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Alleviation, has provided financial assistance to 14 students who were rescued from the Federal University Gusau (FUGUS) in Zamfara State. This act of generosity was confirmed in a statement released on Wednesday in Gusau by Bashir Kabiru Ahmed, the Director of Information for Zamfara State’s Humanitarian and Relief Matters.

Minister Edu's benevolence extended to her official visit to Zamfara, where she formally inaugurated 40 housing units for Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) in Gusau. During her visit, she also extended a sympathetic visit to the rescued students at the Federal University Gusau.

These 14 students come from various states, including Kogi, Katsina, Kaduna, Lagos, Oyo, Cross River, and Zamfara. The strong partnership between Governor Dauda Lawal's administration and the Federal Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Alleviation, under Minister Betta C Edu's leadership, is expected to have a positive impact on addressing the challenges faced by victims of humanitarian crises in the state.
