MOM Foundation Awards Scholarships to Top Mathematics Students in Delta

Officials from the state ministry of education evaluated the students in Mathematics and English Language, declaring them winners among a pool of 30 participants. The six secondary schools that participated in the scholarship competition were Irenuma 2 Secondary School, Mixed Secondary School, Jegbefume Secondary School, Abavo Girls’ Secondary School, and Obi-Anyima Secondary School.

MOM Foundation Awards Scholarships to Top Mathematics Students in Delta

In a bid to promote academic excellence and reward outstanding performance, the Margaret Ogbeide Memorial (MOM) Foundation, a non-governmental organization, has awarded scholarships to the top five students in Abavo community who excelled in the Junior Secondary School (JSS) 2 Mathematics examination.

Officials from the state ministry of education evaluated the students in Mathematics and English Language, declaring them winners among a pool of 30 participants. The six secondary schools that participated in the scholarship competition were Irenuma 2 Secondary School, Mixed Secondary School, Jegbefume Secondary School, Abavo Girls’ Secondary School, and Obi-Anyima Secondary School.

Victor Ogbeide, the Managing Director of the MOM Foundation, announced that the scholarship encompasses a year's school fees, along with provisions such as bags, notebooks, and textbooks for the upcoming 2023/2024 academic session. He emphasized the foundation's commitment to recognizing and supporting young talents who exhibit exceptional academic prowess.

Ogbeide expressed the belief that the scholarship initiative would inspire the recipients to strive for academic excellence and pursue their studies with increased dedication, ultimately contributing to their success.

He stated, "It is our passion to support indigent children deprived of equal opportunities in their upbringing and studies."

Highlighting the pivotal role of quality education in shaping a child's future, Ogbeide encouraged students to explore their potentials and utilize them effectively. For those who did not succeed in the examination, he advised them to study diligently for future opportunities.
