MOMAS Chairman Inspects Groundbreaking AI and Digital Engineering College at Summit University

In a significant development for Nigeria’s technology and education sectors, Engr. (Dr.) Kola Balogun, Chairman of MOMAS Group, paid a visit to Summit University, Offa (SUN, Offa), Kwara State, on October 3, 2025, to inspect the newly commissioned Kola Balogun College of Artificial Intelligence and Digital Engineering (KBCOAIDE) complex.

In a significant development for Nigeria’s technology and education sectors, Engr. (Dr.) Kola Balogun, Chairman of MOMAS Group, paid a visit to Summit University, Offa (SUN, Offa), Kwara State, on October 3, 2025, to inspect the newly commissioned Kola Balogun College of Artificial Intelligence and Digital Engineering (KBCOAIDE) complex.

The facility, which was donated by the MOMAS Group Chairman, is a landmark investment in the future of Artificial Intelligence, Drone Technology, and STEM education in Nigeria.

The KBCOAIDE complex, named in honour of Engr. (Dr.) Balogun, is designed as a world-class facility to equip students with practical and industry-ready skills, reflecting Nigeria’s push toward digital transformation.

The College will feature specialized facilities, including:

 * Drone simulation rooms.

 * Digital fabrication laboratories.

 * A Printed Circuit Board (PCB) production unit.

Speaking during the inspection, Engr. (Dr.) Balogun expressed his satisfaction, stating that the college represents an unwavering commitment to empowering Nigerian youth with the skills to solve tomorrow’s challenges in energy, security, and drone technology.

AVM AbdulGaniyu Olabisi (Rtd), a respected defence technology expert who accompanied the MOMAS Chairman, emphasized that integrating drone technology into university training will provide vital solutions for national security, agricultural development, and disaster management.

The Vice-Chancellor, Professor Abiodun Musa Aibinu, who received the delegation, described the initiative as transformational, noting that MOMAS Group’s generosity has significantly enhanced the University’s academic and research capabilities.

Professor Aibinu highlighted the University's future capacity:

 * MOMAS Group's commitment has expanded the University’s capacity to produce world-class innovators and inventors.

 * With the introduction of a specialization in drone technology, Summit University will soon begin producing certified drone pilots through its accredited Bachelor’s degree programmes and special certification programmes.

 * Upon full completion, the KBCOAIDE will transform Summit University into a national beacon of innovation in Unmanned Aerial and Ground Vehicle technology, Artificial Intelligence, and Digital Engineering.

 * The Department of Information and Communication Engineering is positioning itself as the national hub for Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UAV) technology.

The Vice-Chancellor also praised the ongoing collaboration with the ONEIH–Kola Balogun Technology Centre (OKBTC), adding that the partnership would ensure the effective utilization of the facilities to empower the youth of Kwara State.

The MOMAS Group, a leading indigenous conglomerate, has already demonstrated its commitment by organizing intensive drone pilot training programmes for university lecturers and members of the host community, and graduating ten specialists in PCB production.

Professor Aibinu encouraged parents and guardians to enrol their wards to take advantage of these new facilities and innovative programmes, which are supported by scholarship initiatives from the proprietors, the Ansar-Ud-Deen Society of Nigeria, and various philanthropists.
