NAN UMTH Chapter and NEDC Partner to Commemorate 2026 World Kidney Day with Mass Medical Outreach

As part of activities commemorating world kidney day Nigerian Association of Nephrology UMTH chapter has partnered NEDC in creating awareness on kidney disease, prevention as well as organised a medical outreach where about one hundred and fifty people undergone the screening and other medical exercises.

Representative of CMD, Dr. Abubakar Abiso said commemorating the day will help alot in sensitizing people on how to maintain kidney health urging them to drink water regularly especially during heat season.

Director kidney Centre UMTH Professor Ibrahim Ummate said the medical outreach was organised due to the prevalence of kidney diseases in the state.

NEDC state coordinator Engineer Mohammed Umaru said the commission decided to partner with UMTH to create more awareness on kidney disease through counseling among other supporting role by the commission.
