Tension grips Abia State University (ABSU) following the brutal assault of a first-year female student by a school security officer. The incident, which occurred last Monday at the Uturu campus, has drawn widespread condemnation, with the National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS) leading the charge for justice.

According to eyewitnesses who reached out to myschoolnews, the altercation between the student, Chizurum and the security officer, Mr. Onyemere escalated rapidly, resulting in the officer beating the student to a state of unconsciousness.

The victim, who was identified as Miss Dominic Chizurum, is currently undergoing treatment in an undisclosed hospital in Anambra State. Her condition, characterized by the loss of several teeth and other injuries, underscores the severity of the assault and the urgency of the situation.
