Nasarawa State University Clarifies SIWES Participation Guidelines

The Director of Student Industrial Work Experience Scheme (SIWES) at Nasarawa State University has issued a clarification on the participation guidelines for the program.

According to the director, some students have been found to be undertaking their SIWES in their departments or elsewhere in the university without proper acceptance letters from the University Registrar. This is in contravention of the established procedure, which requires students to be posted to their places of assignment by the Registry.

The director emphasized that only the University Registrar has the authority to accept students for SIWES, and that acceptance letters from HODs are not valid.

Students who have fallen victim to this misunderstanding are advised to seek alternative placements, as their current participation is deemed illegal.

The SIWES department urges all students to comply with the established guidelines to avoid any issues with their participation.
