Preliminary investigations suggest that the suspect, after traveling to the village where both he and the victim reside, was entrusted by the victim's parents to deliver foodstuffs to her since they are fellow students at NSUK.
A 400-level student of Nasarawa State University, Keffi (NSUK), has been apprehended by authorities for the alleged rape of a 100-level student from the same institution. According to DSP Ramhan Nansel, the suspect was apprehended by police operatives attached to Agwan Lambu Division, near the university, on May 9, following allegations of sexual assault. Subsequently, upon the victim's visit to collect the items, the suspect allegedly lured her into his residence, where he purportedly committed the unlawful act. Following his arrest, the suspect reportedly confessed to the crime during interrogation at the State Criminal Investigations Department (SCID).
The police have indicated that upon the conclusion of the investigation, the suspect will be charged to court to face appropriate legal action.
