Nasarawa State University VC Inducts Students into ISDEVCOM

Professor Sa’adatu Hassan Liman, the first female Vice Chancellor of Nasarawa State University, Keffi, recently presided over the induction of students into the Institute of Strategic and Development Communication (ISDEVCOM) during its inaugural lecture and Alumni engagement event.

Addressing the gathering, Professor Liman highlighted ISDEVCOM’s pivotal role since 2018 in advancing science and development communication at the university. She emphasized the institute's leadership in Africa's strategic communication landscape, underscoring its commitment to academic excellence and societal impact through research.

The event, themed "Strategic Communication, Patriotism, and National Security," featured notable speakers who explored critical issues facing the nation today. Professor Liman expressed optimism about the event's potential to foster knowledge exchange among experts and professionals.

Keynote speaker Segun Adeniyi stressed the importance of strategic communication in governmental effectiveness and national progress. He lauded ISDEVCOM's initiatives in nurturing future communicators and leaders.

The occasion also marked the graduation of 3840 students from various faculties who underwent specialized training in Science Communication. Additionally, ISDEVCOM inaugurated its annual Lecture Series and Alumni Executive Committee, aiming to strengthen alumni engagement and foster continuous learning.

Director of ISDEVCOM, Professor Emmanuel Dandaura, reiterated the institute's mission to enhance understanding in development and communication spheres.

The event concluded with a commitment to furthering ISDEVCOM's impact in transforming knowledge into action for societal benefit.
