NBA President Donates Wigs and Gowns to AE-FUNAI Faculty of Law in Recognition of Excellence
The President of the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA), Mazi Afam Osigwe, SAN, has donated wigs and gowns to the Faculty of Law at Alex Ekwueme Federal University Ndufu-Alike (AE-FUNAI) in recognition of the faculty’s outstanding performance in inter-university clinical presentations, both nationally and internationally.
The President of the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA), Mazi Afam Osigwe, SAN, has donated wigs and gowns to the Faculty of Law at Alex Ekwueme Federal University Ndufu-Alike (AE-FUNAI) in recognition of the faculty’s outstanding performance in inter-university clinical presentations, both nationally and internationally.
The donation was part of Osigwe’s commitment, upon assuming office as the 32nd NBA President, to restore confidence in Nigeria’s justice delivery system and promote a proactive legal profession.

The presentation was made through the Dean of the Faculty of Law, Professor Eseni Azu Udu, who represented the NBA President, to Professor Abel Ezeoha, Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Administration), on behalf of the Vice-Chancellor, Professor Sunday Elom.
Professor Udu praised the faculty’s exceptional performance in moot court competitions and other legal challenges, noting that AE-FUNAI has distinguished itself as a center of excellence in legal education. He emphasized that the donation marks the first of its kind under Osigwe’s tenure, highlighting the impact the Faculty of Law is making in advancing legal education in Nigeria.

Receiving the gifts, Professor Abel Ezeoha expressed gratitude to Osigwe for his generosity, emphasizing that Law is one of the university’s flagship programs. He assured that the administration would continue to support the faculty in its efforts to nurture competent legal professionals.
The Vice-Chancellor, Professor Sunday Elom, also lauded the Faculty of Law for consistently bringing honor to the university. He affirmed that AE-FUNAI law students have been making their mark both nationally and internationally and are poised to make a global impact in the future. Professor Elom assured continued support from the university’s administration to enable the faculty to achieve its objectives and maintain its standard of excellence.

The event was attended by key university officials, including the Dean of Faculty, Dr. Chukwuma Ekpe, and other staff, highlighting a shared commitment to sustaining academic excellence in legal education at AE-FUNAI.
