NDU Senate Issues Notice on Payment of School Charges and Registrations

The Senate of the Niger Delta University (NDU) has issued an important notice on payment of school charges and registrations for the 2023/2024 academic session.

This was contained in a memo signed and released by the University Registrar, Mr. Benjamin Joffare referenced: SENATE DECISION ON PAYMENT OF FEES AND REGISTRATION.

Information contained in the memo reads as follows: 

This is to inform students, the University Community and the general public that the University Senate at its 204th Meeting held on Wednesday, February 28, 2024 amongst other issues deliberated on the above matter and decided as follows:

1. That all candidates (old and new) offered provisional admission into the University who are yet to pay fees, register and get their matriculation

numbers are being requested to do so as soon as possible.

2. That all such provisionally admitted candidates (old and new) who fail to comply with (1) above shall have their provisional admission withdrawn.

3. That only students who have paid their school fees and registered for courses shall write the Second Semester Examinations. Consequently, students are being advised to pay up their school fees and register for courses on or before the 14th of March, 2024.

4. That students who are unable to pay their school fees and register for their courses on or before 14th of March, 2024 should suspend their studies for the 2022/2023 Academic Session.

5. Students should note that (3) and (4) above are based on the provisions of the student handbook on the “Continuous Registration of Studentship” which states thus: “Every student is required to complete registration for 

courses every academic session throughout the period of studentship. A student who fails to register for courses in any academic session without approval from Senate on account of Suspension of Studies or Rustication will be deemed to have voluntarily withdrawn from the University”.

6. Consequent on the above, the Course Registration Portal shall be closed 

on Thursday, March 14, 2024 for the purpose of generating the 2022/2023 Second Semester Examination Attendance Register.

7. For the avoidance of doubt, it should be noted that any student who sits for an examination for which such student did not register will be made to appear before the Senate Student Disciplinary Committee (SSDC).

8. In a similar vein, any Lecturer who grades the scripts of students who did not pay fees and register for courses will be made to appear before the Senior Staff Disciplinary Committee (SDC).
