NELFUND Disburses Over N2 Billion in Institutional Fees to Six Nigerian Tertiary Institutions

The Nigerian Education Loan Fund (NELFUND) has announced ongoing disbursements of substantial student loans to tertiary institutions nationwide, in line with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s commitment to improving educational access for Nigerians.

NELFUND has approved and disbursed over N2,530,235,750 in student loans to benefit 22,120 students. This initiative aims to alleviate financial constraints and support students in continuing their education.

To date, six out of twelve institutions have received full payments for institutional fees, totaling approximately N2,026,163,340. The remaining six institutions are expected to receive payments in the coming week. This will ensure that students can continue their academic activities without financial interruptions.

Additionally, NELFUND has started providing upkeep payments for students, with N442,400,000 allocated for July. These payments are designed to cover living expenses for all 22,120 students across the twelve institutions, with more support planned for the future.
