NELFUND to Provide N45,000 Monthly Stipend to Technical College Students

The Federal Government of Nigeria has announced that students attending technical colleges nationwide will receive a monthly stipend of N45,000.

This initiative aims to promote interest in technical education and revamp the Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) sector.

The government will also cover school fees, pay industry-based supervisors, and finance skill certification costs. A N120 billion grant has been allocated for the TVET program, which will be disbursed through the Nigerian Education Loan Fund (NELFUND).

This initiative is part of the government's efforts to equip Nigeria's youth with practical skills to address unemployment and drive economic growth. The move is expected to attract more students to technical colleges and make them more attractive for job opportunities locally and internationally.
