The Senate of Nigeria Maritime University (NMU), Okerenkoko, Delta State, has approved the 2024/2025 academic calendar during an emergency meeting held on October 17, 2024. The academic calendar outlines significant dates for the upcoming academic session.
According to the approved schedule, the registration portal will open for fresh and returning students on November 17, 2024. Fresh students are expected to resume on November 18, followed by clearance procedures on November 20 and orientation activities on November 24. Returning students will resume on November 25, with lectures commencing on December 1.
A Christmas break is scheduled from December 21, 2024, to January 5, 2025, after which lectures will resume on January 6. The end of online registration for all students will occur on February 7, 2025, with the matriculation ceremony slated for February 8.
The first semester lectures will conclude on March 3, 2025, leading into a revision week before the commencement of the first semester examinations from March 10 to March 27. A convocation ceremony is planned for April 12, followed by a semester break.
For the second semester, students will resume on May 23, 2025, with lectures beginning on June 6. The second semester examination period will run from July 14 to July 21, concluding with a holiday on August 2 and 3, 2025.
