Nigerian lawyer Emmanuel Oyesomi has accomplished extraordinary feats in Canada, earning a master’s degree in law and being called to both the Nigerian and Canadian bars within two years. Taking to LinkedIn, he shared his achievement, , “On June 21st, 2024, I was called to the bar of Newfoundland, Canada. I recall landing in Canada in January 2022, a few months after I was called to the Nigerian Bar, dreaming about this moment.”

Nigerian lawyer Emmanuel Oyesomi has accomplished extraordinary feats in Canada, earning a master’s degree in law and being called to both the Nigerian and Canadian bars within two years.

Emmanuel obtained his master’s degree in Constitutional and Business Law from York University’s Osgoode Hall Law School in Canada.

Taking to LinkedIn, he shared his achievement, , “On June 21st, 2024, I was called to the bar of Newfoundland, Canada. I recall landing in Canada in January 2022, a few months after I was called to the Nigerian Bar, dreaming about this moment.”

He added that the journey to being called to the bar of Newfoundland, Canada, was not without its challenges. Emmanuel described it as being filled with intense study sessions for the licensing and bar exams, including an extensive bar course.

He managed to complete the bar course while simultaneously pursuing his master’s program. “Balancing academic demands, work responsibilities, and personal commitments while maintaining my mental health was very demanding,” he stated.

Despite the challenges, Emmanuel remained focused and determined. He expressed his gratitude to his connections at Deloitte and Budden & Associates, where he interned.  He also expresed gratitude to his friends and family, especially his parents and siblings, adding that he could not have achieved this success without their support.
