Gbenga, an 18-year-old passionate about rope skipping and dance, holds three records: the most skips in one minute on one leg (278), the most double-under skips in one minute on one leg (144), and he first achieved the record for most skips in one minute on one leg in 2022. "Achieving a Guinness World Records title is the greatest thing that has happened in my life," he said, expressing pride in representing his state and being recognized globally.

Seventeen-year-old Dubem secured the title for the most double-under crossovers (criss-cross) while skipping in 30 seconds, achieving 78 skips. "What I love most about rope skipping is the fun," he remarked, dedicated his success to his hometown, and aims to uplift underprivileged youth in Akure.

Also, 17-year-old Philip, known for his enthusiasm for dance, achieved the most rope crossovers while skipping on one leg in 30 seconds with 69 skips and equaled the record for the same feat blindfolded (62 skips). He described becoming a record holder as one of the greatest achievements, hoping to inspire others to pursue their dreams.

The trio’s journey began when they were unable to attend the world championships in the USA due to lack of sponsorship. However, their coach encouraged them to set their sights on breaking world records instead. "Under his guidance, we improved our performances and honed our skills," they agreed, highlighting the rigorous training regimen that included frequent sessions at the local stadium.

With their remarkable achievements, these students not only brought pride to Nigeria but also set an example for their peers, demonstrating that with dedication and resilience, dreams can indeed become a reality.
