NIPR Anambra Chapter Pays Courtesy Visit to COOU Vice-Chancellor Ahead of 2026 Summit

The Anambra State Chapter of the Nigerian Institute of Public Relations (NIPR) paid a courtesy visit to the Vice-Chancellor of Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu University (COOU), Prof. Kate Azuka Omenugha, FNIPR, on Thursday, March 12, 2026, at the Vice-Chancellor’s Conference Room.

The Anambra State Chapter of the Nigerian Institute of Public Relations (NIPR) paid a courtesy visit to the Vice-Chancellor of Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu University (COOU), Prof. Kate Azuka Omenugha, FNIPR, on Thursday, March 12, 2026, at the Vice-Chancellor’s Conference Room.

The visit was part of preparations for the institute’s 2026 Annual General Meeting and Students/Young Professionals Summit.

Members of COOU management present included Prof. Obiora Ejiofor (DVC Academics), Prof. Sylvia Okonkwo (DVC Uli Campus and Development Affairs), Registrar Sir Chris Obi, and Ag. University Librarian Dr. Uche Enweani. The Local Organizing Committee Chairman, Dr. Nelson Omenugha, introduced the delegation and described them as “the Vice-Chancellor’s people,” highlighting her longstanding connection with NIPR.

During the visit, Barr. Chimdi Neliaku, MNIPR, Chairman of the Young Professionals Hub of NIPR, commended the Vice-Chancellor as a charismatic and performing leader and expressed gratitude for her support of the summit. Keynote speaker Dr. Uche Nworah, an alumnus, also praised Prof. Omenugha for her impactful leadership. Prof. Angela Nwammuo, FNIPR, Anambra State NIPR Chairman, welcomed members warmly and thanked the Vice-Chancellor for her continued support of the institute.

Responding, Prof. Omenugha lauded the growth of the Young Professionals initiative, describing it as a vision she once nurtured and now sees flourish. She encouraged students to leverage the summit’s opportunities, noting the crucial role of public relations in shaping both individuals and institutions. The Vice-Chancellor also highlighted Dr. Gideon Nwafor, Head of the Department of Mass Communication, for his role in successfully reopening the university’s campus radio station, Uniojukwu 106.1 FM, which enhances the university’s visibility under her 3Vs mantra: Values, Viability, and Visibility.

The visit concluded with a vote of thanks delivered by Rev. Fr. Prof. B.A.C. Obiefuna, who expressed appreciation for the Vice-Chancellor and COOU management’s warm reception of the NIPR delegation.
