Nnamdi Azikiwe University (UNIZIK) is set to host a National Summit on Child Rights in collaboration with the United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF) as part of its commitment to promoting child rights education in Nigeria. This initiative aligns with the enactment of Nigeria’s Child Rights Act (CRA) 2003 and its domestication in various states.

The university has previously introduced child rights courses across different faculties, including the General Studies Unit, earning commendation from UNICEF for its significant contributions to child rights studies.

The upcoming summit aims to consolidate the university's achievements in the field and will bring together key stakeholders in child rights for vital discussions on enhancing the welfare of children in Nigeria.
