Northwest University Kano Appoints Professor Aisha Garba Habib as Acting Vice Chancellor

The Governing Council of Northwest University, Kano, has appointed Professor Aisha Garba Habib as the Acting Vice Chancellor of the institution. The appointment took effect immediately after the tenure of the former Vice Chancellor, Professor Mukhtar Atiku Kurawa, ended on October 15, 2025.

Professor Habib is a distinguished academic and seasoned administrator with a wealth of experience in university governance. She has served in various capacities, including Deputy Vice Chancellor (Academics), Dean, Faculty of Humanities, and Dean, Students’ Affairs Division.

The Pro-Chancellor and Chairman of the Governing Council, Professor Hafiz Abubakar, has urged the university community to accord Professor Habib the maximum support and cooperation required to ensure the continued progress of the institution.
